Description

Terraforming and off-world migration: How do we address the challenges involved in terraforming and migration to an off-world colony? This module will illustrate the interdisciplinary nature of science by using directed project work to address a real-world issue of the not-so-distant future. Students will receive a small number of formal sessions, however the emphasis is on independent study conducted in cross-departmental teams, reflecting the process of working in the `real world¿. All areas of science and mathematics will be represented through a set of problems set in the wider context of science. Students will be given background information before tackling the problems within small teams.
